Admission Requirements

Ready to apply? understand the general academic, language, and documentation requirements for studying in Canada. Exact requirements vary by program and insituition. 

Most programs require a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree, depending on the level of study. 

Key Considerations: 

  • Transcripts: Official academic records from all previous institutions. 
  • GPA/Grades: Minimum average requirements vary (usually 60-75%).
  • Program-specific prerequisites: Some programs require certain subjects (e.g., Math or Science for Engineering).
  • Credential Evaluation: International qualifications may need to be verified through WES or similar services.

Proof of English proficiency is required unless you studied in an English-medium institution. 

Accepted Tests & Minimum Scores:

  • IELTS Academic: Overall 6.0-6.5 (no band below 6.0)
  • TOEFL iBT: 80-90 overall
  • PTE Academic: 58-65
  • Duolingo English Test: 110-120

In addition to academic records, you’ll need to submit:

  • Passport copy (valid for the study period)
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) explaining your academic goals
  • Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from teachers or employers
  • Updated Resume/CV (for graduate programs)
  • Portfolio (for design, media, or art-related programs)

To study in Canada for more than six months, a Study Permit is required.

  • Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI)
  • Proof of Financial Support (e.g, CAD 10,000+ for living costs)
  • Valid Passport & Photos
  • Medical Exam & Biometrics (if required)
  • Visa Fee Payment Receipt
